What is Paleo?
The Paleo diet is a lifestyle. The approach is based on the quality of foods you eat. It mimics our hunter-gatherer ancestors. It excludes all of the food which came from agriculture or processing- dairy, grains, refined sugars, etc.
This diet takes you back to eating real food! There are so many benefits to eating this way. By eliminating processed foods you will notice a drop in body fat while building lean muscle, increased energy, improved athletic performance, better and more consistent sleep patterns, and acne free skin.
Download the PALEO IO application to your smart phone. This app will help you out in your time of need when you're unsure what is and what is acceptable in the paleo lifestyle.

What can I eat?
Healthy oils (olive, walnut, flaxseed, macadamia, avocado, coconut)
Vegetarians - legumes, quinoa is awesome, and sugar free soy (meat eaters don’t eat the vegetarians)
Legumes - unless vegetarian/pescatarian (including peanuts)
Overly salty foods
Refined vegetable oils
Each meal should ideally include a healthy carbohydrate, a protein, and a healthy fat.
Breakfast - Eggs scrambled with handful spinach + half avocado
Lunch - Green beans sauteed in coconut oil and + tin or packet of tuna + handful of almonds
Dinner - hamburger patty or portobello mushroom over a leafy green salad + half avocado
Get creative. Part of the difficulty is the amount of preparation involved. Make sure you plan ahead so you are not stuck in a situation where you are left with no options. There are TONS of recipes online for all dietary needs.
You can still eat out! Just ask a few questions. Make sure your protein won't be covered in sauce and ask for olive oil on the side for your salads. Get a burger without the bun, at brunch order eggs and bacon. Order thai coconut curries extra protein and/or vegetables and no rice. Social life saved! PS Bloody Mary’s do not count even when served with bacon garnish.
